I am not in a pleasant mood. I'm not exactly bitchy either, but for some reason I just cannot get happy, or satisfied, or productive, or any number of things. Instead, I'm restless and angsty and unproductive and most of all bored. I fell into this odd mood after I woke up from a nap today--a nap, I might add, in celebration of finishing a very hard History triterm earlier this afternoon. And I didn't have any afternoon classes or shifts at work, so I figured it was a good idea. Well, it wasn't: between the odd and slightly disturbing dreams (that of course I can't remember now) and the headache-mood combo I woke up with, I would have been better off staying awake.
A main contributer to said mood is probably the horrible Advanced English Syntax homework I've been working on (check the link out if you dare--it's our textbook's homepage, with examples of all the diagramming we have to do. My teacher insists that students love her class, but I don't seem to be one of them as of yet. Actually, I dread it but that's another story.) I could also be studying German or reading for my British Modernism class, but I can't seem to wrap my head around that either. I started a very good fantasy novel before my nap (The Wayfarer Redemption by Sara Douglass, and yay! it's book 1 of 6)
Now for some randomness: my most recent Netflix was the movie Wristcutters: A Love Story. Dan recommended it to me and when I logged on my account, Netflix said I'd give it 4 stars (a pretty darn good score) so I put it to the top of my queue and guess what? It was amazing. I loved it. It instantly broke my Top 3 list (which are, as you probably know, classics such as The Princess Bride and Moulin Rouge.) If you enjoyed dark drama comedies such as Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Garden State and especially Little Miss Sunshine (three of my personal favorites), you'll like this movie. The movie follows a cast of memorable characters through an afterlife (basically the trashier parts of Nevada) populated by people who committed suicide in 'real' life--and yes, it is indeed a love story with a happy ending. There is a bit of language (which is pretty much a requirement for an indie film) and some gore (suicides, after all) but both are minimal. Really, just go out and watch this movie.
I think I may put sweatpants on before I have to go out to the desk at 8. It might make me feel better. These jeans are not only making me look fat(ter than I already am), but they're decidedly uncomfy and unsnuggly, and I could use some comfy snuggleness right now.
This just in: an email from Barbara Boxer (a California senator) about wildfire preparation just arrived in my inbox. It has pictures of her face, the ocean, and the Capitol building in Sacramento. It's pretty nifty. Also, I managed to make my roommate mad at me in a span of 30 seconds. I am truly amazing.
